Lainey is such a big girl now! She will sit up all by herself for quite a while now. It is so adorable. She is even starting to crawl! So much fun. She will get on all fours and attempt to take two little crawls forward, then she belly rocks the rest of the way. I cant believe how big my sweet babies are getting. Time really does go by much faster when you have babies.

Not For The Queezy. . .

As mentioned in a previous post I have started making my own baby food. Well it seems as though mom's gourmet baby food has bound the babies up. I called the ped to see what I should do because the white grape juice I was giving them wasnt really helping. She said warm prune juice. Ok, that sounds reasonable. So, I diluted a couple ounces of prune juice, warmed it up and gave it Gabe and Lainey. A while later I was holding my dear sweet Gabriel when I heard some rumbling in his belly. Oh good I thought, poor baby will feel better now. Moments later more rumbling. Then, I felt a very warm sensation on my leg. . . followed by a warm sensation on my arm. Slowly I lift my dear sweet Gabriel and this is what I saw. . .

Update On Babies

Babies had their 6 month immunizations this week (they are 7 months old though). They usually do really well at these appointments, this visit however didn't go quite as well. Babies were hungry and had decided not to sleep before the appointment so they were pretty grumpy before they got 3 shots, you can imagine them after they got the shots. Lainey and Nick really didn't cry long at all. Gabe was not so happy, I think his teeth were bothering him to boot. All in all though the babies did well and once again Dr. Lehine was very pleased with how well they are doing. Here are their weights:

Lainey
Height: 26" (25-50 Percentile)
Weight: 16.5lbs. (25-50%)
Head Circumference: 16.5" (10-25%)

Nick
Hgt: 25.75" (5-10%)
Wgt: 17.1lbs (10-25%)
HC: 16.75" (5-10%)

Gabe
Hgt: 27" (25-50%)
Wgt: 17.6lbs (10-25%)
HC: 16.75" (5-10%)

The percentiles are based on their actual age of 7 months. If we chart them on their gestational age their percentages would be much higher. Even though they are a little on the small side to average, that is amazingly well for 5 week premature babies. A lot of babies born at 35 weeks are not able to even be charted yet. We are thrilled with how well they are doing.

Rulon Gardner

Rulon Gardner is an Olympic Gold medalist in wrestling (2000). I did not know who he was but I Googled him and he has a pretty amazing story. If your not familiar with him, Google him. Its interesting. My dad was able to meet Rulon and was even able to wear his gold metal. Dad tells me it is heavy and Rulon is HUGE but an extremely nice guy. Dad gets to do the coolest stuff!

My Blankie

The babies are finally sleeping unswaddled. We stopped swaddling them on New Years Eve. We give them blankies to snuggle. I went to get Gabe from his nap and laid him on the floor to play when I noticed he still had his blankie in his hand. They love their blankies! How cute!

Dancin With Dadda

We have the same nighttime routine every night. The babies have bath at 6:00pm, bottle at 6:30pm, and bed at 7:00pm. We listen to the same nighttime CD's and have the same music playing in the nursery every night. Well, somewhere between 5:00 and 5:30 the babies start to get really cranky. They have been up all day playing and are getting tired. This is right when Jeff gets home unfortunately. We try very hard to get them to 6:00 to start baths so they wont go to bed before 7:00pm. It has became part of our routine to dance around with the babies from 5:30 to 6:00. It makes them giggle and laugh, therefore not in complete meltdown and daddy gets some fun time with them before bed. It is hysterical to watch the babies giggle as daddy dances with them. Daddy dances with 2 of them while mommy dances with the other one. As soon as the CD stops to switch to another song the babies all start crying again then they stop once the grovin starts! It is adorable. Here are some pictures of daddy doing the nighttime jig with the babies. Its a good thing he's a strong daddy~!
