I Too Am Counting My Blessings

A friend of mine who is also a triplet mommy did a post about this very subject today and I felt compelled to count my blessings today too. Many of our triplet mommy's and blogging friends are struggling with different illness with their babies. Some more serious than others. As I look at this picture of my 3 healthy happy babies who were wearing orange this day in honor of baby Stellan who was not doing well, I cant help but feel so lucky to have them. I too am counting my blessings.

Teeth Update - Fangs?

As I understand it when babies start getting teeth they are supposed to get the two bottom middle teeth first, then two top center teeth, then the K9's. Well Lainey is the only one so far that has followed that pattern. . .

Lainey - 6 teeth, 2 on the bottom that came in first. Then the top 2, then the K9's.

Nick - 4 teeth, 2 on the bottom that came in first. Then his K9's. Yup baby boy has fangs!

Gabe - 2 teeth. 1 on the bottom that came in first. Then 1 K9.

The boys have lots of teeth coming, I think Gabe has 4 all coming in at the same time but you would never know it. He never really complains, such a sweetie. Nick is pretty good too but he was definitely fussier when getting his K9's. Here is a picture of my little fang baby. . .

Garbanzo bean burgers and potato latkes. Babies LOVED the burgers! They did ok with the potatoes but they were definitely not a favorite.

A Marytripletmomma original. . .sorta. Taco bites. Babies went nuts over these!!

Did I mention how much fun I am having cooking for them! I know, I know I'm a big dork! Next week we are doing home made mac-n-cheese, bean and cheese quesadillas, and turkey veggie bites! Cant wait. =0)

Please Pray For Stellan

You may have seen Stellan's button on my sidebar. He has a unique heart condition that makes his heart race (SVT). He has been in SVT for many days now and his heart and body can not take much more. He is very sick and has been airlifted to Boston. You can read all about Stellan by clicking below or clicking on the button on the sidebar. We are praying for you Stellan!

No Fear Nicholas!

Can't you just see it in his eyes. . .

He is up to no good! This baby is fearless!! LOL

More Fun Lunches!

I am really having a lot of fun making new meals for the babies to try. Its even more fun when they actually LIKE it. We made black bean burgers with sour cream and baby guacamole this week.

Although making them this first time was a bit of a debacle (understatement of the year) and I felt like doing this

they came out great in the end and two of the three really liked them. Surprisingly Gabe was not a big fan of the black bean burgers which is unusual because he likes everything. Next on list to make is Garbanzo bean burgers!

What Would You Do With $10,000,000?

That is the question on Multiples and More today. After some thought I think this is what I would do:

1. Pay off our house and Jeff's Jeep, thats all of our debt at this point.
2. Get a much larger house with 2 floors, more bedrooms, a garage, and 2 sets of washers and dryers.
3. Put money aside for all of our kids.
4. Give to our family.
5. Have Jeff go to school for photography and start a business. Get him all the right photography equipment that he needs.
6. Get a chef, housekeeper, and personal trainer.
7. Donate some to the Albany Medical Center NICU for taking such good care of my babies for 10 days. And some to the Ronald McDonald House who were so wonderful to us.
8. Possibly invest some (although admittedly I know nothing about that stuff).
9. Possibly get a vacation waterfront home at a quiet, quaint place that we can take the family to every year.
10. I'll need a boat for that waterfront vacation home. Ha!
11. After that personal trainer whipped me into a long desired size 10 (hey I'm a realist) I would get a makeover and get some new clothes!!
12. TAKE A VACATION!!!!!

(13. I would want more babies. . . shhhhh dont tell Jeff!! LOL)

Monkey's 1st Birthday Party

We had a ball at the babies first birthday party! We had a monkey theme. I made the invitations, cupcakes, and monkey munch. We also had 3 blow up monkeys and 1 4ft blow up monkey. We had to rent a tent because of the rain, the tent worked out great. We had lots of people come and celebrate with us. Its always great when we can get together with family and friends, especially for an occasion like this. The babies were SO GOOD through the entire party. I could not have been prouder of them. We were once again blessed so much from everyone with all of the toys, clothes, and gift cards. We cant thank everyone enough. Jeff and I got the babies a few toys and an indoor swing set with a slide. They love it and fits great in their nursery. Gramma and Poppa got them an outdoor swing set! Its so nice to be able to take them out in the yard to play and swing. Again, thank you everyone for celebrating with us and for all the wonderful gifts!

Happy Anniversary Baby!

Happy 7th anniversary Jeff. If you would have asked me 7 years ago where I would be today, I most certainly would not have said a stay at home mom raising triplets. Back then I did not even want babies, Alyssa was all I needed. Now look, 7 years later and we not only have Alyssa but we also have 3 wonderful babies that just turned 1 year old. I would not change a thing. You are an amazing husband and dad. I love you very much!

Some of you may know that we are selling are house (wanna buy it!!?? LOL) Well, we caused quite a commotion with the For Sale By Owner sign today. We even had a man stop and ask how much for the babies. Gramma said they were not for sale however mommy said depends on the day! =cP HA! We added some shrubs to the front of house. Jeff got one side done, he had some helpers. It came out so nice! Hope we get some bites on it.

Nom, Nom, Nom

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE the babies cribs. I went to great lengths to get these cribs as they are safe and beautiful. They also convert to a toddler bed and then a twin bed. I called many many many stores until I found one out of state so no tax, then we picked up all the furniture (3 cribs, 2 tall dressers, 1 small dresser, and 1 changing table. . . oofka) so no shipping, and I begged and pleaded for a multiples discount until I finally got a price within our budget.

So you can imagine my devastation when I noticed this on not one but two of the flip down gates on my sweet babies cribs . . .

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk . . .

Can you guess which one of my monkeys did this?? So much for thinking "that bowl is too heavy for any of them to get it out of the drawer, besides that drawer is too high for them to reach". Not so much!

Alyssa

It has been brought to my attention that I have not done a post about Alyssa in quite some time so I thought I would let everyone know what she is up to. Alyssa goes to a community college in WA where she is studying to be a dental hygienist. She does really well in school and considered taking some summer courses. She is motivated! She has had the same boyfriend for a long time. Jeff and I got to meet him when we went out to visit Alyssa for her high school graduation. He seems great and luckily Jeff likes him too. Whew, I can put away the shotgun. Other than school and boyfriend, she is also working at a gym. Needless to say she is a busy girl! I don't have a picture to post of Alyssa as it has been over 2 years since she has been to visit. We are hoping to see her soon. Alyssa, just wanted you to know you are not forgotten about. We love you and miss you.

Americade

Its Americade weekend yet again. Jeff has been to Americade every year. Even last year when I was VERY pregnant he was able to take a quick ride down long enough to get a pin. I was on complete bed rest this time last year so Jeff didnt like to go far. This year we had Danny and Steph sit with the babies after we put them to bed and took a ride down. It was so great to be Jeff and Mary again and take a small break from mommy and daddy. (Thank you so much Danny and Steph). We had the best time! I had not been on the bike in over 2 years so this was a real treat for me. When we got to Lake George Village we walked around and checked out all the bikes and Jeff had some patches sewn on his coat. Of course we got a pin for our coats. I had a pretty rough day yesterday so its was great to get out with Jeff and enjoy some time together. Here are some pictures we took of bikes the other day. We actually took these for Jeff's friend, not really Jeff's kind of bike but they were pretty cool none-the-less.

One of the patches that Jeff had sewn on his bike was a remembrance patch for his good friend Mike. Mike passed a couple months ago from cancer. Jeff had a couple of these patches made after Mike past. Mike was one of the coolest, nicest people I will ever meet. Jeff worked with him at Finch Pruyn and they continued to be friends long after Jeff left Finch. Mike did a lot of construction jobs and would often hire Jeff to help him. He even put the addition on our house. Jeff really looked up to Mike. I dont think it has sunk in to either of us that he is not with us anymore.

Last but not least we were able to take the babies to Americade on Thursday afternoon. I was a little nervous because I wasnt sure how they would handle the loud noises from the bikes but they loved it! They had a ball. We caused quite the commotion pushing the baby limo through the village. People stopped us about every 3 feet. 3 people asked to take pictures of the babies. And only one person touched them (we all know how mommy feels about that! - I handled it well and did not have a heart attack). I was a little weirded out about people taking pictures of them, but Jeff is much more laid back than I am and he was fine with it. I was so proud of my little monkeys at how good they were. I love it when we take them out and people say how good they are. It happens almost every time we take them out. Here is a picture of all of us at Americade.

Update - And A Rather Long Post

I wanted to take a minute and share what the babies routine is and what our days are like. More for me than anything. When I look back on to my blog these are things I want to remember.

The babies have settled into a wonderful schedule. Of course I have no idea how long it will last as things are every changing with babies, but right now its wonderful. Our schedule most days looks like this:

5:00am-5:30am: Babies awake. We have a bottle and then 2 or 3 episodes of Baby Einstein. (They usually are done by the end of the 2nd episode). And they play in the front room with some toys we have out for them.

7:30am: Breakfast 1 or 2 Baby Yogurts and 1 or 2 jars stage 2 fruit. If its a weekend daddy will make french toast or pancakes. Sometimes they get toast and fruit spread too. (Whole grain pancakes, wheat bread, no syrup. Mom is no fun!) Then we get dressed and I play with them for a few minutes. We usually read books and practice the words book and ball.

8:00am-8:30am: First nap which usually last about 1.5hr. I can just give the boys their paci and blankets and just lay them down. No crying, no fussing, no rocking. . .they just roll over and go to sleep. It has been a rough road getting to that point, but now that its here its wonderful! Lainey is a bit spoiled and often still needs to be rocked. I usually take my shower, update the blog, fold and sort laundry, make the bed, study. . .

10:00am: Bottles. After bottles the babies will play in between Lainey's room and the kitchen while I clean the kitchen, load the dishwasher, and switch the laundry. We will often go for a morning walk. If no walk, when they get tired of playing in the kitchen we play in the nursery.

11:30am: Lunch. Usually 4-5 jars of stage 2 veggies. Then we play some more.

12:30-1:00pm: 2nd Nap. Usually about 1.5hr. Again, I am doing laundry, making bottles, cleaning, studying. . .

2:30pm: Bottle. They play for about an hour then have a snack. Snack ranges from cheerios, wagon wheel, cheddar bunnies to chick peas, tofu, fresh fruit slices. Just depends on what they seem like they are in the mood for. Can you guess what comes next. . . yup more playing.

4:30pm: I start dinner and while its cooking I try to feed the babies dinner. They get oatmeal, fruit and veggie with a sippy cup of formula. (No more bottles after the 2:30 bottle). Then when Jeff gets home we have dinner, then babies always want to try what we have so they have some of our dinner too. After dinner Jeff plays with babies until I get the kitchen cleaned then we do baths. Then its play time until about 6:45. While they are playing they get another sippy of formula.

6:45-7:00pm - Babies get over night diapers on, teeth (ok tooth) brushed, then bed. They sleep through til 5:00 or 5:30am. We go through stages of one baby waking. The last few nights Lainey has been waking about 4:30am. We (ok Jeff) gets up with her and rocks her back to sleep. There are many nights though when nobody wakes, its wonderful!

Jeff and I are enjoying them more than ever right now. The beginning was unbelievable hard. I am still amazed we made it through with little help. But we did and we are not divorced!! BONUS! LOL

The babies LOVE their daddy. It is the most precious thing to watch. When Jeff gets home from work or visits us on lunch the babies bolt across the room to get to him. All three of them. And because the are so big now he has to kneel down to acknowledge all three as he cant pick them all up anymore. They also stand at the front room gate and cry their eyes out when he leaves. He gives them all hugs and kisses and they stand at the gate and cry and cry. He hates it! I almost have to push him out the door because he does not like to leave when they are crying. Thankfully, they will usually get over pretty quickly. Cheerio's help. =)

I love to watch the babies interact with each other. So precious! They will now chase each other and laugh at each other. They also like to stand at the windows in the living room and yell out to people. Cracks me up. Gabe is a very strong baby and can pull on the locked baby gate and get it open. He knows to sit out of the way so he can open it all the way, he lets his brother and sister escape then he makes a run for it. Its hysterical. I know this is only the beginning. Oh boy! The babies are starting to understand certain words like "NO" (they hear that a lot) and follow mommy, eat, and they respond to their names. Lainey waves and claps, so sweet. All the babies gives kisses (usually only to daddy. . .WHATEVER!) And Lainey is walking. She only get about 2-3 steps but none-the-less, walking. LOVE IT! They are doing so many wonderful things, if I try to list them all it would take me a week. I just want to remember some of the wonderful things and times. Now I should go because Lainey found a permanent marker. . .
