These were actually taken Mother's Day Eve. Its our nightly ritual to all snuggle in the recliner and rock while watching Einstein. The babies are getting so big that we barely fit anymore. I had the most wonderful Mother's Day ever. I woke up to fresh made cinnamon rolls and french press coffee along with 2 cards and lots and lots of snuggles from my babies. We loaded the kids in the van and just went for a drive to Iowa. We shared cheeseburgers and fries and the babies had their first milkshakes (well the first one they could enjoy all to themselves). They napped off and on throughout the day and Jeff and I really enjoyed just all being together and driving around to new places. We didnt really DO anything but spent the day together and I wouldnt have wanted it any other way. Thank you my sweet family for making Mother's Day so great!

I have really got bad about updating the blog and that just stinks. I am trying to get better about updating but it just seems there are not enough hours in the day.

I am STILL attempting to finish my Medical Transcription course and only have a little bit left. I have lost all motivation though these past couple weeks, so I have to get going again. We also joined the local multiples group. So far I love it. There is lots for the babies to do and I am enjoying getting to know the other mom's. Hoping to meet some people and get out to do things. Last I joined a gym and hired a personal trainer. I am convinced he is trying to kill me. =0/

Jeff is doing great and has joined the local community college. I am so proud of him! He is going back to school for photography. Our hope is to both be able to be home with the babies as much as possible. And to hire a nanny to come help and babysit so we can leave the house. (Ok so maybe that last part is more dreaming then hoping.) Needless to say between school for both Jeff and I, the fact that we dont know a lot of people here and are budget is tight, doesnt leave much time or resources to watch the babies so we can get a break. But we are looking into some things that may help with that.

Anyway, on to the sweet babies. . .or I guess I should say toddlers. They are doing so good and getting so big. They are saying SO much, too many words to even list now. And even some 2-word sentences like "all done" and "hi dadda". They are still doing their sign language as well and will put two signs together like "more drink". Lainey weighs about 24lbs however has had a furious appetite lately, growth spurt maybe? Nicky is about 25.5lbs and is still my shorty. Gabe is 26.6lbs and is the tallest. They have graduated to booster seats at the dining room table instead of high chairs. They are doing pretty well with eating with utensils and plates. Here are some pictures of them having cereal on of the first times at the table with a bowl and spoon. So cute. . .

We got to go to the car show at the Quest Center with my dad and one of the babies cousins. We had such a great time. We loved checking out all the new models of cars. They even had the bat mobile from the last Batman movie. The babies got their picture taken in front of it. I would have to say my favorite part was all the old cars. So cool. Then we went to get a bite to eat and some milkshakes. The babies were wonderful while we were out. The best part of the entire day was spending time with family.

Well, we have been in Omaha several months now and dont get me wrong I do like it but I think I am homesick. I miss New York, I miss our family, I miss our friends, I miss Paula coming every Wednesday come rain or shine, I miss Brittany coming on Mondays, I miss Katie coming a few times a week, I miss going out to dinner with friends (however rare that was), I miss my house, I miss the mountains, I miss the places we used to love to go and eat at, I miss taking the kids to Explore, I miss taking them to Crandall Park, I miss my morning walks around town with them, I even miss NY DMV (we just had to over $700 just to register our vehicles). I guess I am just homesick. I think sometimes change is hard. Any change is hard, especially when you have certain expectations. Not that I am disappointed because I am not, thats not what I mean. I just didnt expect to pay that much just to register cars, I didnt expect the cost of living to be as high, I didnt expect Jeff to not be working yet, I didnt expect to have a landlord that literally said to me "I dont give a sh*t about your kids", I didnt expect that the kids would get so many colds when moving here, I didnt expect it to be so difficult to get the children on state insurance, etc. , etc., etc. But we are closer to family and I am so glad for that. And I am sure some of this is normal right? Its normal to feel a little blah in a new place right? We did just join a triplets group and I am excited about that. I am hoping to meet some people and get to know the Omaha ropes. Guess I am just having a blah kind of a day.

We took Nick to get his first hair cut at a place called Family Fun Cuts. They play video's, have little cars for you to sit in, blow bubbles, you name it. All kinds of fun things to try to make your toddler happy during their hair cute. Sadly it did not work for Nicholas, my poor buddy screamed his head off the entire time!

How We Like Omaha And A Baby Update

So we have been in Omaha for about a month and are really started to feel settled. It is much much different then Upstate NY that is for sure. It is really flat for one thing. . .where are the mountains? I have been "homesick" a few times since we have been here, really missing our family and friends in NY. But all in all we are really enjoying Omaha. There is SO MUCH TO DO! And lots of it is free which is so nice. We love being so close to our family. I cant tell you how much I have enjoyed watching my family get to know the babies and vise versa. The babies will actually smile and clap now when we pull into the driveway at Tom and Jo's house. They love having the girls to play with and I love having all the company. Rarely is there a time when more then a day will go by when we dont see the girls, Tom, and Jo. They all just babysat for us so Jeff and I could have a night out. They even did baths and put the babies to bed. Jeff and I were in much need of a date night and we had a great time! One of my other favorite things is making meals and delivering them to Tom and Jo and Dad and Mari. They all do the same for us too. Its so much fun to go to Dad's on Sunday's. We have a blast there and he is always cooking something. And in case you didnt know, he is an AWESOME cook! Oh how we are reaping those benefits!! Mom and Dave are only a days drive away which is nice. We wish they were close but it is so much better then being 3 days away. They will be here for Christmas and we cant wait. They enjoy the babies so much. It will be such a great Christmas to have most of the family here. Jeff and I are both home right now and boy oh boy could I get used to this! I absolutely LOVE having Jeff home and the kids adore him so they love it too. He does have some things in the works, so not sure how long that will be but I am enjoying every minute of having him home. I guess its safe to say we like it here!!!

As for the babies, its been a while since I have done an update so here goes:

Lainey - My sweet Lainey bug. Gosh this little baby girl is awesome. She has the absolute cutest giggle ever. She is still my tender hearted baby girl. She loves to snuggle and wants to be held a lot. She says momma, dadda, dog dog, ball, boo, and hi. She plays hide and seek and loves to be chased. She loves when you scare her, she is so much fun. One of her favorite things is when daddy throws her in the air. She loves it. She is a chatter box too, she walks around the house "talking" away. Jeff and I will sometimes just sit and listen to her and we cant help but giggle at her. I wish I knew what she was saying. She loves to eat paper and has devoured many of her books. She does hi-five and loves to play with shapes. She is my best eater, will eat just about anything you put in front of her she just doesnt eat a lot. She is a peanut in comparison with her brother. She weighs about 22lbs and wears 18mon clothes. We are transitioning to a one nap schedule and she does pretty well with it. She usually goes to bed around 7pm and sleeps right through until somewhere between 6:30-7:30am. Nap is usually around 11:00am and is about 2 hours. She is generally a happy baby.

Nick - My energetic fun-loving Nicholas. The baby boy is in to everything! He keeps me on my toes. He is a very curious and at times mischievous baby boy. Nicholas literally makes us laugh everyday, all day. He has a smile about a mile wide and the hardiest laugh I have ever heard. He wants to crawl, climb, jump off of, and get in to everything and anything. We can always tell when Nick is up to no good because whenever he is doing something he's not supposed to he laughs hysterically. So hard to discipline him because we are trying not to laugh. He is a fussy eater and will not try anything. We have to wipe the new food on his lips and allow him to give it a little taste before he will even think about trying it. He drinks a lot and loves his snacks. He has become more of a snuggler lately but its never for long. He does not stop long enough to snuggle. He says momma, dadda, dog dog, ball, and hi. He also gives hi-five and plays hide and seek. His favorite game is also chase and loves to be scared. I call him my little adrenaline junky. He takes after his daddy. Nick is my shorty and wears 12mon pants and 18mon shirts. He weight about 24lbs. He too is going to a one nap schedule. Nick is my best sleeper. He usually takes a really good afternoon nap around 11:00am, 2 hours. He too goes to bed around 7:00pm and sleeps until somewhere between 6:00am-7:00am. Usually 6:30am. He too is a happy baby.

Gabe - My sweet snuggly Gabey. Gabe is a little lover and a flirt. He has the sweetest eyes and smile, they melt your heart. When ever we take the babies out everyone always googles over Gabey. He has a smile for everyone. Gabe is normally a very laid back baby, although he is going through a bit of a fussy needy stage right now. He is my gentle giant, but is insanely strong for a baby. Baby gates are no match for Gabe if he decides he wants through. Gabe has the most precious chuckle ever. You cant help but start to laugh when you hear him get going. He LOVES to watch tv, he only ever watches Baby Einstein but he really loves it. He has also become quit the dancer lately. Gabe will find a toy and study it inside and out. He loves to spin things and chews on everything. He too is a great eater, I usually have to cut him off. He has become a bit fussier lately though. Gabes favorite games is also chase and to be scared. Gabe loves to cuddle and be held. He says momma, dadda, and hi. Gabe is in 12-18mon pants and 18mon shirts and wieghs about 25. Occasionally he says ball, dog dog, and all done. He does not like to go to bed, ever. Not for nap or bedtime. Although he does really well at bedtime, he just needs to chat for a couple minutes before he will go to sleep. Naps have been tough for Gabe, but he is finally able to be laid down for nap without rocking. He still protests but usually no more then a couple of minutes. He sleeps about the same schedule as Nicky as they share a room. Gabe is a really happy baby and normally only fusses when something is buggy him.

All the babies do sign language now and are all on the same schedule. We work very hard to make that happen. It always makes me count my blessings when we hear how good are babies are. We hear it a lot when we take them out and honestly it makes us so proud. I know there is more I could tell, but I just wanted to give a "little". . .ahem. . .update on all of them. We love you so much Lainey, Nicky, and Gabey!

They set an all time record and destroyed the house in 30 seconds flat. The kids have talent. My sister-in-law Jo's birthday was today and we got to celebrate with her. It was so nice to be with family on their birthdays, its been a while since we have been able to do that. Jo would kill me if I told everyone it was her 39th birthday so I wont. The girls came up yesterday and we made a rainbow cake with homemade cream cheese frosting. The girls did an awesome job decorating the cake and it came out beautiful. Happy birthday Jo, we love you!!!

Life In. . .Omaha

Finally a long overdue update. We have made it to Omaha and are getting settled. I can not tell you what a joy it is to be closer to family. We are about 6 houses away from where my brother, sister-in-law, and nieces live. We get to see "The Girls" (what we always call my nieces) almost everyday and we absolutely love it. My Dad and Mari are only about 30 mins. away. We've already seen them more in the few weeks we have been here then in the past few years. We're reaping the benefits of Dad's cooking and garden and we love it. Mom and Dave are only a days drive away. They spent over a week with us helping us get settled and lovin on the babies. And we get to them again at Christmas. The babies are doing so wonderfully and getting settled into a nice schedule. Jeff is home as of right now and the babies and I love having him home. It really is so wonderful. We are learning our way around the city too. There is so much to do here and a lot of it is FREE. So nice! We went to a great city park today complete with swans and slides. We got lunch at a great sub shop then had a picnic at the slides while the kids played. I have more to update on but for now I will leave you with pictures of these 3 adorable little munchkins. . .

Are you feeling guilty for drying the dishes with your shirt? Hope that no one saw when you ran to the mailbox in your jammies? Overcome with embarrassment after your child asked the grocery clerk, who did not have a baby in her tummy, if she "had a baby in her tummy?" Well don't be! Not Me! Monday was born out of my desire to admit some of my imperfections and reveal a few moments I'd rather forget. You may find it therapeutic to join in and do the same thing!

I most certainly did not, on a one on one day, stuff my son Gabe who is 3lbs larger than his sister into his sister's pink car seat because I did not want to climb to the back of the van to his car seat. No, I would never do that it wouldn't be uncomfortable for him and thats just plain lazy.

I most certainly did not find not one, not two, but all three of my children in the spice cabinet pawing through all the spices. Nor did I find my son with the brandy, used only for cooking of course, tipped up to his mouth pretending to drink it.

No more than 10 mins later I most certainly did not find two of my three out on the porch because I apparently did not close the front door all the way. That would be dangerous!

I absolutely did not get so fed up with my sweet trio for throwing food on the floor that I gave up and let them eat their lunch of the floor. No, not me. That is not sanitary at all.

I most certainly did not run out of wipes and use wash clothes to clean extremely poopy diapers. I mean really, how could I run out of wipes with three 15 month olds in diapers.

I absolutely did not use my shirt to continually wipe my daughters snotty nose. I would never do that, I would get a tissue. I then did not take a shower and put that shirt back on, that would be just plain gross.

This certainly has not been an eventful week!

Today the boys decided they wanted to play in Lainey's room. They have a habit now of closing the door behind them so they get locked in the the room until I open the door back up for them. This is Lainey's room.

I took advantage of them being locked in Lainey's room and decided to vacuum the nursery. It took maybe 5 minutes. When I was done I heard laughter and squeals of delight coming from Lainey's room. This is what I found. . .

This picture is a little deceiving because it looks like Lainey is smack dab in the middle of the mayhem, however she walked in as the tornado's I mean boys walked out.

I swear I have the best family and friends ever. My dad and Mari sent me a new digital camera as mine broke. They said they were not getting their triplet fix. LOL I love my new camera and its PINK just like my old one. Thank you both soooo much for the new camera. Its great and I love it. I was able to test it out a little this weekend. The babies went to their first bithday party so here we are in Walmart buying Hailey's birthday present. Hailey's birthday party was at Explore. The babies LOVE Explore, I took some pictures of them playing too. More to come. . .

I was thinking lately about the blog and all the things I post. For the most part the things I post are generally happy in nature or positive. We recently had a discussion in my triplet mommy's group about blogs and how sometimes it seems like people try to make their lives appear all rosey and wonderful. They dont show the "real" side of things. It got me thinking about my blog and I realized that I tend to do that. I guess its mainly because I get constantly judged for having triplets and am always hearing how "hard" it must be that I dont want to give the nay sayers the satisfaction of being "right". But when I look back on this blog I want to remember everything. Good, bad, and ugly. And well, since my camera is broke and dont have any cute pictures I had to post something. Har har.

The realty many days is I am exhausted. I have a lot to take care of. Laundry, meals, housecleaning, bills, laundry, and making sure 3 14 month olds and one husband are happy and healthy. Add in house renovations, no time to myself, and financial stress and it does make for some very long and stressful days. I rarely go anywhere and if I attempt to talk on the phone I swear my kids know it and decide at that very moment that their lives are coming to end and they need me RIGHT THEN AND THERE. If I attempt a phone call, I usually try to go on the porch or wait until the sweet darlins are locked in a room. I barely keep in touch with family and friends, usually the blog is the only form of communication.

Then there is the babies themselves. The are, well, babies. They are teething, testing boundaries, exploring new things and foods, fighting over toys, and wanting mommy or daddy at every waking moment. They remind me daily there reach is getting longer and they are getting smarter and more creative. As I type this one of my sweet darlings grabbed my full cup of coffee and dumped it on the floor. Sigh. Once again I am mumbling to myself, never a break. I am in the house pretty much 24/7. I work 13 hours a day, 7 days a week at least. There is never a moment when I do not have a stain, puke, food, poo, or something else on my clothing. I manage a shower everyday but to actually "do" my hair is rare. And make-up, yeah right. My teeth usually get brushed at least once a day. . . usually. One might say take the babies and go to the park or what not. But have you ever attempted to heard 3 toddlers out the door, into carseats, then load the triplet stroller or choo choo, the suitcase that double as a diaper bag, and all the snack cups and sippy's by yourself? Its a lot of work. . . and thats just loading them. Once we get to said park there is the unloading of the triplet stroller, unloading the babies, grabbing the suitcase, then pushing the baby limo through the sand (haha) to the park only to unleash 3 babies that will go in every direction and eat everything in site. Not exactly a relaxing time out. Then there are the new things the babies are "learning" like tantrums and fits. Add in a child that refuses to take a nap unless being rocked and well you get the idea. Exhausted. Many of my triplet momma friends have family, nanny's, sitters, and friends to help them. I have my wonderful husband who does his best to give me a break but in between working a stressful full time job then spending every waking moment doing renovations on the house it does not give him a lot of time to give me a break. I am lucky to have Brittany, my friends teenage daughter and a wonderful mom's helper, who comes for a few hours on Mondays. And my friend Paula who comes for 1/2 day every Wed. and has ever since the babies were about 2 months old. My mom and Dave also comes up often and give me a break too. But thats it. Its not easy to find a babysitter who can handle 3 babies. And because we dont have family close by and rarely see our friends we dont have any close to the babies that knows their schedule and quirks. So not a lot of time for Jeff and I or just for myself.

If you would have asked me a couple of weeks ago how I was doing I would have told you exhausted, stressed, drained, and in need of a break. But, just when you think you cant take anymore relief seems to come. There have been some very stressful times in the past couple weeks, but they have made me realized some very important things. First and foremost my babies are happy and healthy. I am reminded of this everytime we take them somewhere and we hear at least once without fail "what good babies" we have. Secondly, my husband is a Godsend. He is understanding, patient, and a wonderful dad. I am grateful to have him. And last, I need to take care of myself before I can take care of anybody else. So that means asking for help when I need (my absolute least favorite thing to do), taking an afternoon for myself and being confident the Jeff and will babies will be fine, and stop stressing over the small insignificant stuff. So maybe I do have three times the diapers, dishes, laundry, crying, ear aches, theething, and sleep issues. I also have three times the smiles, giggles, chasing, laughing, hugs, kisses, love, and happiness. Things may not always be rosey and easy and probably wont be for a long time, but I am happy and would not change a thing. . . unless that thing was winning the lottery.

One of our favorite sayings we hear from people when we take the babies out is "your hands are full". Let me just tell ya, with Lainey voicing her opinion rather loudly, Nick crawling into and over anything he can gain access to(notice the plastic car in the lower cubby), and all three of them opening things that Mom and Dad forget to put out of reach, I do believe the people who say that, have no clue as to how full our hands really are. These pix are from a couple of moments over the weekend we actually had time to grab the camera for.

We are still trying more and more new foods. I am having a ball and the babies seem to like most things. We have tried turkey meatloaf bites, bean and cheese quesadillas, and artichokes with lemon dipping sauce (they did not like the artichokes and if I ever decide to prepare an artichoke from scratch again, someone smack me please). But their favorite this week was the mini bagel pizza's with glazed carrots.

I Too Am Counting My Blessings

A friend of mine who is also a triplet mommy did a post about this very subject today and I felt compelled to count my blessings today too. Many of our triplet mommy's and blogging friends are struggling with different illness with their babies. Some more serious than others. As I look at this picture of my 3 healthy happy babies who were wearing orange this day in honor of baby Stellan who was not doing well, I cant help but feel so lucky to have them. I too am counting my blessings.

Teeth Update - Fangs?

As I understand it when babies start getting teeth they are supposed to get the two bottom middle teeth first, then two top center teeth, then the K9's. Well Lainey is the only one so far that has followed that pattern. . .

Lainey - 6 teeth, 2 on the bottom that came in first. Then the top 2, then the K9's.

Nick - 4 teeth, 2 on the bottom that came in first. Then his K9's. Yup baby boy has fangs!

Gabe - 2 teeth. 1 on the bottom that came in first. Then 1 K9.

The boys have lots of teeth coming, I think Gabe has 4 all coming in at the same time but you would never know it. He never really complains, such a sweetie. Nick is pretty good too but he was definitely fussier when getting his K9's. Here is a picture of my little fang baby. . .

Garbanzo bean burgers and potato latkes. Babies LOVED the burgers! They did ok with the potatoes but they were definitely not a favorite.

A Marytripletmomma original. . .sorta. Taco bites. Babies went nuts over these!!

Did I mention how much fun I am having cooking for them! I know, I know I'm a big dork! Next week we are doing home made mac-n-cheese, bean and cheese quesadillas, and turkey veggie bites! Cant wait. =0)

I am really having a lot of fun making new meals for the babies to try. Its even more fun when they actually LIKE it. We made black bean burgers with sour cream and baby guacamole this week.

Although making them this first time was a bit of a debacle (understatement of the year) and I felt like doing this

they came out great in the end and two of the three really liked them. Surprisingly Gabe was not a big fan of the black bean burgers which is unusual because he likes everything. Next on list to make is Garbanzo bean burgers!
